Happy Saturday Friend!
Today's card is one of many I hope to create to have on hand for when I need a 'generic' card that will work for just about any occasion! And, I've used a couple of fun challenges to get me inspired!
The CAS(E) this sketch! challenge which I'm sorry to say will be closing after this challenge. But I totally understand because her family is growing and she wants to spend more valuable time with them ... we all know how fast these kids can grow up ... time you can't get back if you don't grasp it now!!
And, The Flower Challenge #52 Challenge . I chose to use one of my many ProvoCraft - Cuttlebug embossing folders for my background panel.
For my flower cluster, I am using an older Elizabeth Craft 'Flower Cluster' die (#1068). I first die cut it from a scrap of white card stock but then deciding to use the white vertical panel, I then die cut from a purple card stock scrap and glued them together.
The flower centers fall out so I used a piece of Scor-tape and placed it behind a scrap of card stock I had left over that was created using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks. Once I had the cluster base positioned on my card, I then grabbed the flower centers (which now were sticky backed) and pieced them into the base.
The sentiment is the 'Brush Script Hello' from Frantic Stamper and I've used a Gold Pilot Marker to EDGE my horizontal panel so I didn't add extra weight with another panel.
As an after thought, I decided to add some sparkle to the flower centers so I grabbed my Diamond Stickles. That's better! A little touch of sparkle is exactly what this card needed.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Enjoy your day!
As always . . .
Stunning and so love these colours together..xx
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful! I love your colors here, and that background embossing just makes those flowers pop. Gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize the challenge was closing. I always enjoy the sketches and do follow the Pinterest board. You've made a beautiful card with your peach background and purple/blue flowers. I have that embossing folder and love it. Your photo really shows up the impression.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful and I love the texture from the embossing folder. The flowers just pop against that colored panel.
ReplyDeletesuch pretty shades in the flowers and like the sparkle you brought to them, such an elegant embossing folder too!
ReplyDeleteDarlene, I adore your embossing! You have such a wonderful way with color - not one of my strong points! Thanks so much for playing along with us as we say goodbye to CTS!

Beautiful card Darlene! I LOVE the combination of coral and purple. Very striking contrast between the two. Your embossed background is so pretty and adds so much texture to your card. The flowers are bright and beautiful ... a little sparkle is just perfect. Thanks for joining us at The Flower Challenge!
