Wildlife in the Winter Forest

Hello my friends and Happy Tuesday!

Yesterday I was busy working on some card orders but earlier in the day I had spotted the new challenge over on the Let's Squash It Challenge Blog and I just had to create a card before calling an end to my crafting day.  As you can see below, their theme this time around is 'Use an Embossing Folder and an Animal'.

OMG I could have gone in so many different directions with this theme ... maybe I'll get a chance to create again before their challenge ends but today it's all about seeing those beautiful deer in the snow covered forests (woods as we call them) this time of year.

I've used the Tim Holtz 'Falling Snow' embossing folder for my main background and also tore a scrap of white card stock to create a snowy ground cover.   My tree is by Dee's Distinctively 'Pine Tree Lg' (IME-163) and I've added 'snow' with a white jelly roll pen.  The deer is by Paper Rose 'Reindeer1' (#16584).  The icicle strip across the top was created using a scrap of white card stock and a very old Martha Stewart punch.  My background paper (though you can't see much of it) is from a 12x12 sheet of 'pine branches' designer paper.

I was thinking, not only is this a great holiday card but I think it would make a perfect Masculine Wintertime Birthday card too ... what do you think?
