Hello Everyone!
This past Sunday was a good day to play with some of my new goodies (internet was quiet lol). So, today I have a card to share using my new Creative Expressions 3D Embossing folder (Sue Wilson) called 'Fanciful Flowers'.
I was going to just emboss on a solid color but then decided to create a pastel background before embossing. And, to do that I did something DARING lol ... I made a pastel background using TH Distress Oxide Inks but did NOT use watercolor paper! I know ... crazy huh! LOL
I took my white card stock panel (not anything special) ... reached into my oxide ink sponge drawer and started sponging just what was left on the sponges onto this white panel. Then I spritzed it with water and let it 'run' a bit. Next I laid it down and placed a paper towel over the top ... careful NOT to move things around ... just wanted to sop up the excess water. And THIS is how it came out ... pretty happy with that!!!
I actually had this Penny Black 'Birds & Banners' (51-352) banner laying on the work table so decided to use it for the front sentiment panel. I went through my stamps and decided to make a card for a friend who has been struggling through this pandemic and used the Stampendous 'Friendly Phrases' (SSC1141) stamp set for the front & inside sentiments.

ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful, Darlene! I love the pastel, embossed panel you created! It certainly says Spring is in the air! So happy you joined my challenge at The Paper Players this week!
ReplyDeleteSo very beautiful with the soft pastel colors and the embossing. I love the sentiments too.
ReplyDeleteLove those soft colours on the beautiful embossing. It looks beautiful and all is well that ends well, using water on non-water paper. I do that sometimes too. Sometimes it works and other times ... not so much :-)
ReplyDeleteMay your troubles be less, and your blessings be more,
and nothing but happiness, come thru your door!
♥ Lena
