Tutti Designs - Sweet Friend

Welcome Back Friends!
I'm still having lots of fun with newly released dies from the Tutti Designs Store.

And also fun sentiment dies from an earlier release ... details below.

Dies used are:

Butterfly Medallion
TUTTI-512 Butterfly Medallion

Word Set - Sweet

TUTTI-236 Word Set - Sweet

Word Set - Friends

TUTTI-234 Word Set - Friends

Here are a few steps taken during the creation of today's card ...

First I die cut the Butterfly Medallion THREE times from white card stock.  Then, after creating a background panel using Tim Holtz Oxide Distress inks, I die cut it again making sure I grabbed the colors I wanted to be in just the butterfly portion of the die.

Next I snippet around just the butterfly.

Here are my working pieces ...
As you can see, I also die cut my sentiment pieces from my colorful background panel.  OH and did you notice I made the word 'Friends' singular (vs plural) just by snipping off the 's' at the end.

I've glued the three white butterfly medallions together, then glued just the center (body) portion of my butterfly on top so the wings could show movement.

Did you notice in the photo above my base card is WHITE?
I must confess to a BooBoo!   I did what I worry about doing unless I check the opening of my card  (of which I did NOT do this time)  before assembly, and that is I glued my medallion onto my card front with my card upside down!  Has that ever happened to you???   UGH!  Grrr!  LOL

So I trimmed my embossed pink panel (which was already adhered to my white card base) as close as possible and adhered it to a blue card base!  Lesson Learned!!  LOL  The embossing folder used today is by Embossalicious and is called 'Petite Dot'.  It is a square embossing folder with works better for my A6 size cards.

Please be sure to pop over to the Tutti Designs Store

  1. This is gorgeous, Dar! I love that heart/butterfly medallion! Beautiful colors with those oxide inks and that embossed background is awesome. Please share the name. I have made the upside down error several times recently!!

  2. Beautiful backgrounds like yours do make into the most wonderful die cuts! Love this butterfly medallion. Oh, I hear you about the boo boo. I once stitched a card front without opening the card first. Therefore, stitched the card closed. Had to layer all that onto another card, so it turned out a little heavy. I like how you tweaked the "friend" word. You'd never know the difference. Makes it all the more versatile!
