Double D - Wreaths

Hello Friends!
It's time once again for a new challenge at the Double D Challenge Blog and, it's another fun theme chosen by Diane ... also check out the amazing mood board she has designed to inspire you!

 Our theme is:  WREATHS

What a fun theme idea!  Don't ask me why, but for some reason I never use a wreath other then at Christmas and even then, rarely!  Guess I have too many other images, stamps/dies LOL  ... But what fun I had creating my project for today!!

Here's the mood board Diane has created . . .

Here's what I came up with!  I'm sure you can tell right away
which wreath in the mood board inspired me!!  LOL

Yep the lemon wreath!  I created my lemons using Nuvo Yellow Crystal Drops.

For my wreath, I used a very old Cheery Lynn Designs 'Joy to the World' (B481).
See, I told you I don't have/use many wreaths LOL
Might have to do something about that!

I have die cut the wreath three times using different shades of green card stock then tack glued them together to achieve the 'fullness' of my wreath.  Then I proceeded to add the Nuvo drops and let sit for 24 hours so I didn't 'mess them up'.  LOL

I found the yellow wood panel designer paper in the Mintay by Karola 'Marina' 6x6 paper pack and thought it would work perfectly with my yellow lemon wreath ... and it did!  The pretty yellow ribbon comes from a Really Reasonable Ribbon pack.  I belonged to their club a few years back and have some very pretty ribbon packs but don't use them often enough ... today was the day!

For the sentiment I used the Honey Bee 'Sending You Sentiments' Stamp set for my wording then used one of the dies from the Sue Wilson 'Stitched Flags' set to create the flag.  It wasn't long enough so I die

cut PART of the sentiment then moved the die down, cut the the opposite end to meet in the middle.  Hence a long enough flag for all the words.

Diane has this fabulous prize offered to one lucky winner.
But, you have to play to win!!

Be sure to pop over to our Double D Challenge Blog and check out what the design team ladies have created ... they are amazingly talented and I'm sure you'll find more wonderful inspiration!

Hope to see you there!

As always . . .

  14. this is so cute and a perfect card for the mood board. I never would have been able to make that many lemons without messing up the whole card, but you manage to use it perfectly. The yellow wood is also the perfect backdrop.'
