happy Everything

Hello my friends and Happy Friday!

Today I have a card to share that uses the 'paper piecing'
technique and it just happens to be the theme over on

I love the look of a card with paper piecing, but I just don't think to do it
and that's probably because I've been using more dies vs stamps
in the past year or so.  Well today I'm breaking that habit and I had fun doing it!

For my focus, I've used a very old (circa 2004) wooden block stamp
from Impression Obsession called 'Dogwood 3'.  Now bear with me, I know
dogwood blossoms are not variegated in color but we're being a
little 'artsy' here today!  LOL  I had a long, narrow scrap of designer paper
in my scrap box and I liked the spring colors so that's where it began.

I like how the dogwood flowers have a LARGE pattern and a designer
paper which I thought coordinated nicely with my flowers is
of a smaller print.  I think that really makes my dogwood flowers
pop even more ... what do you think?

Before gluing down my dogwood petals, I colored the
branches/leaves using my Spectrum Noir DG3 alcohol marker.
My sentiment die is from Penny Black 'You Are Awesome' (#51-333).

After matting my focus image, the white corners
'bothered' me so I did a little faux stitching with a fine tip black marker.
Hey, what can I say?  I can be weird that way!  LOL
