Welcome back friends!
It's time for a new challenge over on Make The Cards Challenge.
This challenge will run for TWO WEEKS
and we're thrilled to have guest designer Angie Cimbalo joining us.
ALSO ... this is the start of my SECOND term with this fabulous team and we have some new members also ... check it out ...
For today's challenge we're doing something a little different!
We are partnering up with the folks over at the Double Trouble Challenge Blog for TWICE the FUN!
Here's our theme:
If you're not familiar with how the Double Trouble works here's more info:
Thing 1: Trouble Maker
says, "In many countries, May
Day is a celebration of spring and the coming of summer. It is
celebrated with many spring flowers, many of them blooming right in your
own backyards. Let's include flower(s) using patterned paper, stamps,
digitals, embossing, stencils, or dies of your choice. The month of May
also brings Cinco de Mayo, Mother's Day, Labor Day for some, and other
special family occasions.
You can stop here...
OR, play along with Twisted Sister's optional twist to earn another chance at our random draw.
Thing 3: Twisted Sister
says, "Our partner has a Color
Challenge that screams flowers! Let's not Candy Coat it - you MUST use
ALL of the colors in the 'Candy Coated' Chart below. With your stamps,
dies, or mixed media use the colors you have on hand that are the
closest match. Neutral colors are white, cream, Kraft or black... and if
you wish, you may sneak in a little green."
Thing 2: Double Daresays, "If you have met Thing 1's requirement "Flowers" and included the optional twist using our partner's "Candy Coated" Color Challenge, you are eligible to enter your project HERE at Make the Cards. requirement "Flowers" and included the optional twist
This is optional: However, if you enter their challenge you get another chance for our random draw prize.
Note: No totally digital projects... you can use digital stamps that you color or digital patterned papers as part of your project. Make the Cards has agreed to keep this color challenge open for two weeks; however, their challenge will still end on a Saturday (May 1st, 7pm).
Here are the products used to create today's card . . .
Impression Obsession - Large Porcelain Pitcher (DIE978)
The Greetery - Shiplap Builder
Memory Box - Blushing Bouquet (#98890)
Pretty Pink Posh - Simple Sentiments Stamp Set
My shiplap background was due cut from white card stock then sponged using TH distress oxide inks before putting together my background layout panel.
For my pitcher, I die cut twice ... once from colored card stock and once from white card stock then fussy cut the handle, top & bottom to give my pitcher a 'look of it's own'. I also used one of the white flowers from my bouquet to adorn the front.
My floral bouquet was die cut from a couple different colors of card stock then paper pieced over top a white die cut panel of flowers. The stems were colored using Spectrum Noir Alcohol Marker.
